Comparison of Some Soil Enzymatic Activities in Luvisol of Conservation and Conventional Tillage in a Model Experiment

The effect of soil tillage operation on biological properties has not been extensively studied in Hungary. We investigated some enzymatic activities (dehydrogenase, β-glucosidase, and phosphatase) a Luvisol, treated by different tillage, management intensities, i.e., conservation (CT), fully conventional with mouldboard ploughing every year (PT), moderately shallow deep ripping intermittently two years (BR). A pot experiment was carried out climate-controlled growth chamber for six weeks as model experiment, using the composite soils (0-20 depth) three types intensity. Our finding suggested, that adding crop residues might increase organic matter content, is reflected high concentration labile carbon CT soil. greater intensified aeration at operation, contributed to much higher dehydrogenase activity PT BR Otherwise, resulted decreased β-glucosidase (BR) phosphorus availability correlated lowest phosphatase improved available P ratio soil, indicating inhibition activity. shown be affected presence substrates practices.
